In 2018 Studio17 turned their formula for innovation to the domestic HiFi speaker. Whilst the means of accessing music has advanced in recent years – the process of turning electrical energy to vibrational energy has remained the same for decades.

The archetypical speaker consists of circular drivers mounted within an enclosure – from basic plastic types, through to exotic composite constructions. These monolithic speaker boxes and their ancillaries – the traditional ‘HiFi’ system has largely disappeared since the early 2000’s, as people pursue convenience, size and aesthetics over sound quality.

Node set out to reconnect people with their love of music, through the highest audio standards, married to aesthetic design that people would want to own, regardless of it being a speaker. Studio17 had complete design freedom to achieve the highest standards in acoustic and aesthetic design.

Studio17 analysed the performance characteristics of existing loudspeaker designs regarded as the pinnacle of acoustic performance, and found that maximising performance in certain areas often led to compromises in others.

The loudspeakers have scooped several international awards in the HiFi press.
