Adding to the already successful Joseph Joseph knife range, Studio17 designed a compact 2-in-1 knife set. A single sheath retains and protects a 3 ½” paring knife and a 5” serrated utility knife. Similar products are often stored with dedicated sheaths or live separately in a drawer, exposed to becoming blunted by other items or cutting searching fingers.

Studio17 looked at both issues as the catalyst for the product. Exploring the use of space and how the two knifes could be stored in one compact set. The focus was to create an individual sheath for two knives, whilst ensuring a pleasing continuous form when the set was stored together.

The two knives are stored within the sheath to protect the blades, when both are stored the profile is completed. Feature lines run around the perimeter, underscoring the continuity when assembled. Small ridged details in the plastic handles ensure the knives are held securely within the sheath when stored away.

Care has been taken not to compromise the ergonomics or aesthetics of each knife individually and it remains elegant as a complete package.
