More infoIn collaboration with building’s owner CA Holdings, Studio 17 worked with designers and architects in visualising a scheme to refurbish the historic building in Oxfordshire.
Prior to the refurbishment, the post production company was at the mercy of the buildings outmoded layout – small, dark rooms without a unified space. As a result, the remit for the architects and Studio17 was to remodel the internal makeup of the building, paying close attention to the client’s specific needs.
The revised layout opens up the previously unused central hall, becoming the main ‘hub’ of the building. Stairs and a mezzanine balcony intersect this space, proving a physical and visual connection between the two levels.
Extensive use of glazing in the side suites and balcony, coupled with steel fixtures, clearly define old and new. The historic hall is celebrated with original features restored to reveal their character, whilst new additions exhibit a ‘light touch’ that preserves the integrity of the building.
