The market for draining mats and boards as a commodity is driven largely by price and subsequently material. Studio17 has innovated within these constraints to add functional benefits above the competition.

The products currently available are made up of self-draining boards and self-contained boards that retain water. Studio17 identified an opportunity for a board that gives the flexibility of both options, so the user isn’t locked into a particular format when their needs change.

Flip provides both self-draining and self-retaining options, with a simple, dual sided design.

The dual-sided approach allows the product to offer increased functionality, without using extra material, ensuring the product remains competitive in a price driven market.

An angled drainage surface slopes towards an open spout at one end. Turning the product over reveals the surface sloping away from the spout, so that water is retained.

The intersection between the ribs and draining surface create a decaying shadow effect as a visual indicator of the drainage direction.

Available in white and grey, Flip is sold in 82 countries worldwide.
